Russ joined SG Financial Advisors, LLC, in August of 2005.  Prior to joining the firm, Russ spent nearly five years working for one of the largest fee-only financial planning and investment advisory firms in the Southeast.  Prior to becoming a financial advisor, Russ served in the United States Navy as a nuclear-trained officer.

Russ’s undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and his Navy nuclear power training helped him develop strong analytical skills that have served him well as an investment advisor.  Earning a master’s degree in personal financial planning and achieving the Certified Financial PlannerTM professional designation provided Russ with the comprehensive training necessary to advise a diverse clientele.

Russ and his wife live in Cobb County, Georgia, with their two sons.  Russ spends his leisure time playing tennis or golf, reading, or giving back to his community.   As a volunteer for Junior Achievement, Russ helped to teach the value of financial acumen and entrepreneurialism to local high school students.  He currently serves as committee chair of The Rotary Club of Marietta and as a Director of the Estate Planning Council of North Georgia.
